When and where is the retreat?
The 2019 retreat happens the weekend of January 25-27 at Gull Lake Ministries located in Hickory Corners, MI.
What does my registration fee cover?
Your registration fee covers five meals, snacks, two nights lodging and all other retreat goodies. We do not currently have a day-only registration option.
What time does the retreat begin and end?
Retreat check-in will be from 4 p.m.-5 p.m. on January 25 and check-out time will be 11 am on January 27. Attendees who will be arriving later than 5 p.m. can check in at the Main Desk of the Ministry Center.
Who can attend?
This event is designed for any mom who is anywhere in the adoption process and is also relevant to anyone currently doing foster care. Our retreat is also beneficial for those in support roles of adoptive and foster care families. However, this is a WOMEN ONLY event.
What if I am coming by myself?
We have many women come as solo attendees. In fact, last year a mom mentioned that she was GLAD that she came by herself because it opened her up to meet so many new people. We want all moms to feel comfortable and will have lots of ways for you to connect.
Can I attend and room with my friends?
When you register, you will be asked for two things:
1. List up to 2 roommates. You will be guaranteed a room together as long as a lodging option has available spaces.
2. List additional friends coming in your group. These will be accommodated as space allows with preference given in order of registration. ALL ROOMMATES MUST REGISTER IN ORDER TO RESERVE A SPOT.
If you are signing up with either roommates or a group, please do not list someone unless they have confirmed they are attending the retreat. We encourage you to register on the same day.
In order to cover our retreat expenses, it is important to maintain our registration number. If you would need to cancel after registering, a full refund will be given if your registration spot can be filled by another attendee on our active waiting list. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER JANUARY 10. All transfers of registrations must be pre-approved by the Woven team.
The event organizers and other participants may take photographs and videos of you during the event. By attending the event, you give consent to the organizers, sponsors, and other participants to publish these photos and videos of you in promotional pieces and/or on the internet without additional notice or compensation.
In order to provide a restful weekend for all moms, childcare arrangements must be made for all kiddos prior to arrival. There are no exceptions made to this policy.
What about the weather?
This retreat takes place during the WINTER in MICHIGAN. Please bring appropriate weather-related items and clothing as there is some walking required between venues. We recommend allowing for extra travel time if you are flying or traveling from a distance.
Is there anything else I should bring?
We recommend bringing an additional blanket as the onsite lodging provides bedding more geared towards the summer months. Please also bring all personal care items, including a blow dryer. All food and snacks are provided. However, GLM is an alcohol free venue.
See the map on our lodgings page.
